A Microsoft® Word® add-in that processes SAS® PROC TABULATE and SAS PROC REPORT output into Microsoft Word tables

LDPTAB is a fast, efficient way of post-processing ASCII files containing list output from the PROC TABULATE and REPORT procedures in the SAS System, using Microsoft Word to produce fully editable Word table objects. A range of user's own preferences can be selected and stored.

Details

• The layout of the table has been maintained. Note the faint horizontal lines in the box in the left hand corner of the Word table and below the fourth row in columns 2 and 3, will not appear when the document is printed. These are part of the Word screen display.
• The size of the columns in the table reflects the size of the columns in the original table. The table extends across the whole width of the page.
• The contents of the table have been transferred and leading and trailing spaces have been removed.
• Different parts of the table use different font sizes, point size is 8 where the cursor is but is 10 in the table header.
• The text in column 1 is left justified while the text in the header section is centred.
• The values in the body of the table are arranged vertically on a decimal tab within their column, which is 60% of the way across the column. The decimal Tab for the cell containing the cursor can be seen in the Ruler at the top of the page.
• All these settings can be chosen by the user, with separate settings for Box, Banner, Stub and Body of the table.

LDPTAB works with PROC TABULATE output from all recent versions of the SAS System or PROC REPORT output from the SAS System version 6.10 onwards and with Microsoft Word97 (Word8) running under Microsoft Windows 95 or Windows NT 4.0.

 LDPTAB works interactively from buttons and toolbars or can be driven via OLE automation from within SAS macros.

It also includes Cut-and-Paste tools that allow users to cut rectangular blocks (such as part of a column of least squares means) into Word Table cell(s) using the Windows Paste buffer.
